Kanye West Set To Release Third New Album Of 2018 On Saturday

Stop us if you’ve heard this before. Kanye West makes a whole lot of controversial statements, then suddenly announces that a new album is on its way. Yes, it seems like every time West releases new music he precedes it with some sort of controversy to help get him back in the spotlight. And yesterday he once again did both.

West announced yesterday via Twitter that his third album of 2018, Yandhi, will be arriving Saturday evening. It follows up his album Ye, and the collaboration with Kid Cudi, Kids See Ghosts, that were both released earlier this year. With West performing on the season premiere of Saturday Night Live this weekend, it’s not a huge surprise that he’s releasing his new album on that day. After all, his 2016 album, Life of Pablo, came out just hours after his last performance on the show.

West isn’t expecting his new album to top the charts either, he said on Twitter that “We know it will come in number 2 to my brother Lil Wayne and that’s lovely. The universe needs Ye and Wayne music at the same time.”

As for the controversy, well during his visit to Fader Magazine offices, he was seen wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat, while wearing a Colin Kaepernick sweatshirt that he had made himself. As you are surely well aware, Trump and footballer Kaepernick don’t exactly see eye to eye thanks to the kneeling during the national anthem thing. He also went on to state he would have preferred controversial comedian Louis C.K. host SNL instead of Adam Driver, got the number of slaves from the 1800s wrong, that he would have “run, fought, or got killed” if he had been a slave, and that he wants to build a flying-car factory in Chicago.

If anything, West certainly knows how to promote himself at the right time.
